Things To Do

BIGS, So you've done everything there is to do with your Little and you can't think of anything new? What to do?  Ask your Little to make a list of 10 things that he/she would like to do while you are together. Then you make a list also. At your next outing, compare the lists and do the things that you both wrote down. Then after you do all that...go ahead and do the things that you both wrote down individually. You may be surprised how much you and your Little enjoy the new activities. Sometimes people think they won't like doing something even though they've never tried it.  ​
Here is a list of local activities  and places you could visit with your Little:

  • McFarland Park has playgrounds and a Frisbee golf course
  • Wilson Park
  • Wildwood Park
  • TVA Trails have several nature trails for walking and bike riding http://www.tva.gov/river/recreation/dispersed/trail-table_hold.htm
  • Gattman Park in Muscle Shoals has a walking trail, frisbee golf course and a splash pad
  • Tuscumbia's Spring Park has a splash pad, TRAIN RIDE, carousel, kiddie roller coaster and lots of ducks you can feed (you must provide your own loaf of bread)

  • Riverfront Park in Sheffield has a great playground and splash pad
  • Take a walk out over the Tennessee River on the Old Railroad Bridge https://www.facebook.com/ORBC.Shoals
  • There is a playground and splash pad behind the Marriott Hotel

  • Veteran's Park has a firsbee golf course
  • Go to First Fridays downtown Florence each month for food, arts & crafts, and entertainment http://www.firstfridaysflorence.com/
  • Visit Una and Leo UNA's lion mascots in their habitat on the UNA campus
  • There's an Indian Mound & Museum at1028 South Court Street
